A syrup-making demonstration Dan took Joy to got him thinking about the maples his dad had planted long ago. And so a new hobby began, which Dan will readily admit “got a little bit out of control.” But that’s okay, because a new tradition was born on this farm out on the prairie, involving three generations of the family, who each year eagerly await the very first sign of a Minnesota spring so they can trudge out into the snowdrifts and begin again the process of sharing the sweet harvest with the good people of this area they call home.
