What would a farm be like without some animals to keep company? While maple syrup keeps us hopping in March and April, our fiber flock of Icelandic sheep keeps the action going year-round.

Meet Franz, the current patriarch, looking for another chin scratch.
Icelandic sheep are a hardy, cold-loving breed of sheep, having been bred for over a thousand years near the arctic circle in Iceland. Their wool comes in many natural colors ranging from white to brown to grey to black. A distinctive feature of their wool is its combination of inner and outer fibers.

They love it here in Minnesota! And we love having them, too. Especially in the spring when the new crop of lambs arrives.

Each fall their wool is harvested and spun into beautiful yarn.

Contact us at [email protected] for availability. Our yarn (and raw wool) is sold at the Marshall Farmer’s Market and via other venues.
